Designed to help you get up and running efficiently and confidently, this Avada guide provides the foundational knowledge you need to start building your site with Avada’s powerful tools and features.
Do You Need Website Hosting?
Website hosting is a basic requirement for every website, as it’s what makes your site accessible on the internet. A good hosting provider ensures your site loads quickly, stays secure, and runs smoothly. Choosing reliable, WordPress-optimized hosting gives your website the resources it needs to perform at its best and provides you with a solid starting point for building and growing your website with confidence.
Website hosting comes in several forms, each designed to suit different needs and experience levels. Shared hosting places multiple websites on a single server and is often the most affordable option, making it suitable for smaller or newer sites, though resources are shared with others. VPS hosting offers a middle ground by allocating dedicated portions of a server, providing better performance and control without the cost of a dedicated web server.
Dedicated hosting gives you an entire server to yourself, delivering maximum power and flexibility, but it requires more technical knowledge and costs more. Managed WordPress hosting is designed specifically for WordPress sites, handling updates, security, and performance optimization for you, making it a popular choice for users who want strong performance with less hands-on maintenance.
We have partnered with SiteGround hosting and WP Engine hosting to deliver an optimal experience for Avada website owners. These are two titans of dedicated WordPress hosting, offering highly competitive pricing to suit your needs.
How To Purchase Avada
Purchasing Avada on ThemeForest is a straightforward and secure process that starts by creating or signing into an Envato account. Once logged in, you can visit the Avada sales page, add Avada to your cart, and complete the checkout using one of the available payment methods.
After purchase, Avada becomes available in your Envato downloads area, where you can download the theme files and access your purchase code to register your Avada website.
Basic Requirements To Run Avada + WordPress
You need a standard WordPress setup hosted on a reliable server that meets modern requirements. This includes a recent version of WordPress, a supported PHP version, adequate memory limits, and a properly configured database and server environment.
How To Download and Install Avada
Once you have web hosting set up and WordPress is installed, you are ready to install Avada. To do this, you need to download the installable file from the ThemeForest account where Avada was purchased. There are two methods to install a WordPress theme: via WordPress or via FTP. This is a process that only takes a couple of minutes.
Register Your Avada Website
Immediately after installing and activating Avada, you must register your purchase. Registration allows you to install and update Premium plugins, import prebuilt websites, download automatic updates for Avada, and register for support.
To register Avada, you need the purchase code from your purchase. Download it from ThemeForest and paste it into the Registration field on the Avada Dashboard. For more information on this process, please see the following documentation and the included video.
Install The Required Avada Plugins
Registering for Avada gives you access to the bundled premium plugins, two of which must be installed for Avada to function correctly and fully. These are Avada Core and Avada Builder. For everything you need to know about installing and updating the plugins that come with Avada, see the document and its included video, linked below.
Run The Avada Setup Wizard (Optional)
The Avada Setup Wizard lets you set up your website quickly and efficiently. This will load automatically on any new install immediately after registration. There are two types of setup: one for using a prebuilt site as the basis for your website, and another for building a new website from scratch.
The Setup Wizard has a step-by-step process that covers required plugin installation, then, depending on your setup type, imports preconfigured color and typography selections, selects content, and more. For full details, see the documentation, linked below. Alternatively, you can register Avada, install the required plugins, and manually import a prebuilt website.
Import Avada Prebuilt Website (optional)
One of the easiest and quickest ways to get a website up and running with Avada is to choose one of our 112+ prebuilt websites. With our easy-to-use importer, you can quickly turn your basic WordPress installation into a fully functional website.
You have full creative freedom to customize the website content with your own branding and content, and have a website up and running in no time at all. See the following documents for more information on our professionally designed prebuilt websites and how to import them.
Run The Avada Performance Wizard (Optional)
The Avada Performance Wizard is a guided optimization tool that helps you configure Avada for faster loading times and better overall performance. It walks you through recommended settings based on your site’s architecture, allowing you to disable unused features, reduce asset loading, and apply best-practice optimizations without technical knowledge.
Using the Performance Wizard is one of the easiest ways to improve site speed, enhance user experience, and achieve stronger performance scores while keeping full design flexibility.
