How To Use The Avada Privacy & Consent Bar

Last Update: June 2, 2026

The Privacy & Consent Bar is one part of the Avada Privacy Tools, which help you facilitate GDPR compliance. For a full understanding of the Privacy options in Avada, see the Privacy doc category. But in this document, we are looking solely at the Avada Privacy & Consent Bar.

This Avada Privacy & Consent Bar is highly configurable, giving you everything that you need to keep your website visitors informed of any cookies, third part embeds and/or custom implementations that may affect their data privacy. It can act as a simple notification bar, or with the Privacy Bar Settings turned on, you can configure the Privacy & Consent Bar in the same way you can with the Privacy & Consent Element, displaying a list of used cookies, and allowing the visitor to select which cookies they want to accept by default. The content displayed in the Privacy Bar comes directly from the options set in the Privacy Consent Tools options, as well as the settings in the Privacy & Consent Bar option section.

As discussed above, the Privacy Consent Tools options populate the settings area of the Privacy & Consent Bar. But this bar can also be enabled independently of the Privacy Consent Tools. Let’s walk through this aspect of our Privacy Tools.

When enabled, the options in the Privacy & Consent Bar section will differ, depending on whether the Privacy Consent Tools are also enabled or not. The Privacy Bar Settings option will also be disabled by default.

Let’s step back for a second and consider the simplest Privacy scenario. The Privacy & Consent Bar can be enabled by itself, with the Privacy Consent Tools option and the Privacy & Consent Bar Settings option left disabled, providing a simple bar at the bottom of the website to inform visitors of the cookies used on the site.

If the Privacy Consent Tools option and the Privacy & Consent Bar Settings option are enabled however, you have the full funcionality of the Privacy & Consent Bar at your disposal. With these options, you can control the style of the content in the expanded section of the Privacy & Consent Bar.

The content can be displayed in columns or tabs, with several options for styling width, gaps and colors. You can also enable extra buttons so the visitor can choose from Accept All, or Reject All, in addition to the OK / Update Setting button. See the video above for a visual runthrough of how the Privacy & Consent Bar Global Options work to help style your Settings area.
