Displaying Special Menu Item Icons on a Mobile Menu

Menus are very flexible, and there are various ways to add extra icons to a menu, such as the Avada Special Menu Items which include search, cart and other links. But when these menus reduce to a mobile menu, these icons go into the menu with all the other items.

You can of course simply make a separate menu with these icons and display that only on mobile, but a recent change with the Menu Element means there is now a much simpler way to choose to continue to display a Search and a Cart icon when the menu breaks down to a mobile menu. Let’s look at how.

Now, with Avada 7.15.4 and up, in the Menu Element, on the Mobile Tab, there are two options called Use Search As Icon On Mobile, and Use Cart As Icon On Mobile. With these two options enabled, the Search and Cart icons will show up next to the Mobile Menu icon, rather than being subsumed into the dropdown menu.
